Maintenance Assistant Chambliss Center for Children | Chattanooga, TN | Full-Time or Part-Time As a 24/7/365 nonprofit serving children, youth, and families, Chambliss Center for Children depends on safe, well-maintained buildings to provide quality care. Our Maintenance Assistant helps keep our facilities clean, safe, and running smoothly across our agency locations in the Chattanooga area. If you're handy, dependable, and want to build your skills in building maintenance, we'd love to hear from you. What We Offer Monday-Friday daytime hours No on-call rotation; after-hours needs are rare (only occasional evenings or weekends for emergencies or urgent repairs) Pay: $17-$20 per hour, based on skills and experience Company work truck provided during your shift Hands-on training and the chance to grow your skills Full-Time Benefits include:Generous paid time off; Free telehealth services; Employer contributions to a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA); Retirement plan with company match; Discounted childcare; And more What You'll Do Complete maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance tasks Help with general building repairs, including: Plumbing Basic electrical work Carpentry Painting HVAC support Inspect facilities and report maintenance or safety concerns Install, move, and repair furniture, fixtures, and equipment Respond to urgent maintenance needs as they come up Help keep agency facilities clean, safe, and operating smoothly What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with a good driving record Ability to safely use hand and power tools Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check (required for working around children) At least 1 year of general building maintenance, construction, or handyman experience preferred Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or HVAC Physical Requirements Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders throughout the day Lift and carry up to 50 pounds Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Travel between multiple agency locations throughout the Chattanooga area Chambliss Center for Children is an equal employment opportunity employer.
