Description
  • Assess and evaluate patients across all ages using established assessment tools and detailed observational methods.
  • Create tailored therapeutic plans that cater to immediate goals while considering long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions that enhance communication skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Work integrally with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, medical professionals, and families to formulate holistic care plans.
  • Provide vital education to patients and their families to ensure continued progress beyond the clinical setting.
  • Participate in periodic inpatient speech evaluations and therapies, ensuring seamless transitions in care.
  • Document progress accurately and promptly in compliance with all relevant guidelines.
  • Engage in professional development through ongoing education and peer collaboration initiatives.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred certification is the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a requirement within the first month of employment.
