No formal training is needed for position, as willing to train the right applicant on the job, but experience in phlebotomy is preferred. Weston phlebotomy has a high standard of excellence for our patients and is a fantastic place to start or further your career. Offers schedule flexibility and great work life balance. Weston is both a hospital and clinic location. Phlebotomist would be responsible for drawing in both areas. New employee has two options for schedule. Option 1: Phlebotomist would work rotating clinic (Days) and hospital shifts (PM). Clinic shifts Monday- Friday 7 AM to 5 PM for 8 hour shifts. Hospital is open 24/7 365 days a year and would be responsible for drawing on the PM shift from 1200 PM to 830 PM. Phlebotomist will be on a weekend and holiday rotation. Option 2: Phlebotomist would work Monday - Friday 1200 PM to 830 PM. No scheduled weekends. Responsible for being on holiday rotation.

Uses equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents; explains procedures to patients/residents and collects information from them in a professional manner. Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents; ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process. Records and documents patient/resident information accurately. Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations; deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. Communicates with patients/residents, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.

High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required. Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
