Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are priorities for the RN. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education is essential. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Applying the caring processes of a recognized model of care is required. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff is a critical component of the RN's role.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions.
• Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patients.
• Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.
• Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs.
• Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement appropriately. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Complies with regulatory standards and participates in governance models.

Required Skills & Experience:

Two years of acute care RN experience.
