Accounting Part-Time Intern

Job Overview Assists the Joint Interest team with routine clerical, accounting, and administrative responsibilities and special projects as assigned. This is a part‑time position working no more than 29 hours per week. Responsibilities Maintain intercompany master data for Operated asset AFEs and Cost Centers. Calculate monthly Statistical Key Figures for Operated expense allocations. Assist in processing inbound Non‑Operated JIB invoices for payment. Use EnergyLink to assist in coding of JIB invoices, cross‑referencing Properties and AFE numbers. Monitor and scan for errors of all incoming Joint Interest Billings received on EnergyLink. Assist in analyzing and validating the accuracy of monthly JIBs, as per joint operating agreements. Assist in monitoring accurate and timely payment of assigned invoices, including cash calls. Assist in analyzing monthly Non‑Operated LOE variances compared to the prior month. Assist in creating and maintaining Non‑Operated payouts. Investigate or escalate any discrepancies and ensure thorough follow‑up and resolution with Partners. Adopt a continuous improvement approach to enhance processes and identify improvements/efficiencies. Adhere to the company’s values – integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public. Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding administrative and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and Outlook). Preference for candidates with previous Hilcorp work experience. Education Requirements Working toward a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year university or college with a business‑related major. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations None.
