Accountable to field teams for the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs. Develop complex software programs, databases, graphics, commissioning, and troubleshooting for proper system operation. Provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls field installation team, and subcontractors. Design and configure technically complex building control systems as defined by contract documents. Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of materials, network layouts, and electrical schematics. Develop and test software programs, databases, and graphics necessary to operate the system per project intent. Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation. Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinate factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedules. Assist in loading and commissioning all system and network-level controllers as required. Assist in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades. Provide field change information to the project team for as-built drawings and software. Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. Assist in performing site-specific training for the owner/operator on the total building control system. Participate in release meetings with the project field team. Perform value engineering to provide cost-effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction. May provide work direction and mentorship to systems technicians while onsite performing commissioning activities. Work with management to develop milestones, track progress, complete time sheets in JCI EPIC software, and participate in team meetings. Proactively adhere to company safety standards and maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety. Coordinate with external resources to perform engineering duties as needed to maintain project schedules set by management. What We Look For Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or minimum 3 years’ experience (see below). Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry. Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems. Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using industry protocols (i.e., LON, BacNet, etc.). Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience. Demonstrated advanced computer skills, particularly in drafting tools. Experience Considerations Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry. HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $28.37-$38.94 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
