SATCOM Engineer - PM C2 Transport

Career Opportunities with JANUS Research Group Qualifications Active Secret clearance required. Salary: 120K-160K annually; commensurate with experience and education. B.S. in Engineering, testing, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of SATCOM engineering experience. Overview Provide in-depth technical assessments and analysis of activities within and between programs. Support the design of system architectures, terminals, waveforms, and access protocols. Support analysis of system performance, throughput, and response times, operational requirements, and system loading. Conduct systems engineering evaluations of satellite and terminal designs. Participate in proposal and technical evaluations for satellite systems. Support design reviews and evaluate satellite and terminal contractor designs. Demonstrate the ability to translate complex technical issues into meaningful terms for others. Effectively coordinate within and outside of PM TN, to include organizations such as Program Executive Office for Command and Control Information Network (CPE C2IN), Army Capabilities Manager (ACM), Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA), industry vendors, and other Army stakeholders (e.g., Army Strategic Command (ARSTRAT)). Serve as subject matter experts in all aspects of transmission, including modulation and coding, link budgets, RF equipment, antennas, waveforms, blockage mitigation, and other algorithms/protocols. Serve as Subject Matter Expert and bring knowledge of systems engineering methods and processes to perform SATCOM system analysis and evaluations for both commercial and military systems. Demonstrate knowledge of Military Standards (MIL‑STDs) and certification processes. Demonstrate familiarity with customer/vendor product development, business proposals, marketing interaction, product design, and manufacturing processes.
