Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of OR experience with robotics and orthopedic case exposure.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• Case mix includes heavy robotics and heavy orthopedic/sports medicine procedures
• Additional case types include urology, gynecology, plastics, ENT, ophthalmology, podiatry, spine, and neurosurgery
• 13-week assignment length
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 0700-1530
• Call requirements include 2-3 days per week plus every 4th-5th weekend
• Rotating call structure with 2 call teams during the week and 1 call team covering 24-hour weekend shifts
• Call must be covered if RTO falls on a scheduled call day
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active WI or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted at submission, must be obtained during compliance)
• BLS certification required and must be active and in hand
• ACLS certification required and must be active and in hand
• NIHSS certification may be pending but must be completed during compliance
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and other robotic platforms across specialties (colorectal, GI, gynecologic, neurological, orthopedic, urologic)
• Experience with cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and Hana Table
• Knowledge of laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures
• Skills in universal protocol, urinary bladder catheterization, and emergency management (code response, fire safety, malignant hyperthermia)
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• RTO must be submitted at time of consideration

• Perform circulating and/or scrub duties across a broad range of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, gynecology, plastics, ENT, podiatry, and vascular
• Facility cannot accommodate travelers with latex allergies
• Travelers may return to this facility only after a minimum 1-year separation
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates accepted, though at a lower rate
• Travel pairs are accepted
• Badge photo (passport-style) required within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Two supervisor references required after offer acceptance
• Orientation includes facility modules averaging 3-4 hours in length
