About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Rehabilitation - Med/Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years recent Med Surg Rehab experience License: New Hampshire RN license or Compact Certifications: - Active American Heart Association BLS - Active American Heart Association ACLS Must-Have: - Charge RN experience - Previous travel experience (at least 3 months) - Willingness to float to other units as needed Description: Rehabilitation Med-Surg combines medical-surgical nursing with intensive rehabilitation. Focus is on patients recovering from surgery, serious illness, or injury. Aim is to restore function and independence through various therapies. Specialized medical and nursing care is provided in an inpatient setting. The goal is to improve quality of life by treating the whole person. Candidates may be asked to work as a backup Charge Nurse. Coordination of total nursing care for patients is essential. Participation in patient and family teaching is expected. Leadership is demonstrated by cooperating with nursing and other patient team personnel. Maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting is required. Expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 4/5. Average daily patient census is approximately 22. Requests for time off must be included prior to submission. Requests after submission will not be approved. No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted. Candidate must have their own vehicle due to lack of public transport. Profile requirements include a skills checklist for Medical Surgical nursing. A signed supervisory reference from the past two years of employment is required. Each call-off must be communicated to the unit supervisor in advance. Excessive call-offs may lead to contract termination. Every other weekend and holiday work may be required if needed.
