This position involves Night Shift, specifically 4x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00. Weekend coverage is as needed, rotating.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will work in a cardiac stepdown unit at a Heart Hospital, caring for a diverse population of cardiac patients. The unit consists of 55 beds, and cardiovascular experience is required. Nurses will utilize the Epic charting system and manage various cardiac-related procedures and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for cardiac patients in a stepdown unit setting with patient ratios of 1:4-5.
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips and manage IV therapy.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Carry out procedural sedation, post-cardiac care, and post-interventional care.
• Utilize therapeutic interventions such as BiPAP/CPAP management and feeding tube care.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy and pharmacy.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiac setting preferred; 1+ years may be considered.
• Previous Charge experience preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current BLS and ACLS certification are required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.
