As a Vice President Control Manager within the Consumer Banking Product organization of Consumer and Community Banking (CCB), you will lead and build out an enhanced control framework that supports a continuous and integrated approach to risk assessment. Additionally, you will perform top‑down risk analysis, real‑time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis and remediation. Job Responsibilities Spearhead the design and execution of forward‑thinking control strategies to proactively identify and neutralize compliance and operational risks. Harness advanced data analytics, automation, and technology to decode business needs, anticipate trends, and deliver solutions that elevate the control environment. Forge strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, driving open communication and collaboration to uphold integrity and achieve strategic milestones. Lead anti‑fraud and cybersecurity initiatives to ensure operations are fortified and agile against emerging threats. Inspire and guide across a diverse group, cultivating a culture of innovation, operational excellence, and alignment with the organizational vision. Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills 7+ years working in financial services, with experience in controls, audit, quality assurance, or operational risk management. Risk Management & Controls : Make independent risk‑based decisions in complex situations, develop and improve escalation procedures and control frameworks, advise stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Risk with deep regulatory knowledge, and train others on risk management practices. Agile Framework : Apply Agile delivery frameworks to drive iterative execution in complex, cross‑functional initiatives, and partner with Product and Technology to help define and prioritise back‑logs. Technology Risk Management : Demonstrate strong knowledge of technology risk management, including risk identification, assessment, and control design. Change Management : Design and execute change management strategies for complex initiatives, drive adoption while minimising disruption, lead stakeholders through organisational change, and train others on best practices. Influence : Persuade stakeholders in complex scenarios, navigate negotiations with data‑driven arguments, build influential cross‑functional relationships across Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Risk, and advise others on engagement strategies. Internal Stakeholder Management : Manage complex stakeholder relationships across CCB, Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Risk, tailor communication to diverse audiences, navigate competing interests to drive mutual outcomes, and advise teams on stakeholder management. Communication & Presentation Skills : Design and deliver sophisticated, high‑impact presentations to senior management while advising others on strategy, create executive‑level communications with exceptional clarity, and synthesise complex discussions into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders. Teamwork : Lead cross‑functional teams in complex initiatives, integrate diverse perspectives across Legal, Compliance, Audit, and Risk, foster inclusive collaboration, and advise others on team dynamics. Knowledge Sharing & Lessons Learned : Lead structured knowledge transfer for complex projects, establish repositories and communities to prevent repeated mistakes, synthesise lessons into actionable improvements, and advise teams on knowledge management. Analytical Thinking & Decision Making : Conduct sophisticated analysis in complex and ambiguous situations, synthesise data to uncover root causes and risks, rigorously evaluate options and trade‑offs while challenging assumptions, facilitate stakeholder alignment and consensus, and advise others on analytical approaches, decision frameworks, and escalation timing. Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills Policies, Procedures, and Regulatory Requirements : Demonstrate deep policy and regulatory expertise across businesses and products, interpret requirements in ambiguous scenarios to strengthen risk and control environment, and advise stakeholders on compliance. Data Literacy & Automation Strategy : Analyse complex data with sophisticated techniques and robust controls, identify high‑impact automation/ML opportunities, translate technical capabilities and data into compelling business cases and insights that drive decisions, and train and advise teams on data practices and automation strategy.
