Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 16 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | Block scheduling may be available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 34-bed Emergency Department serving all age populations, including geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients
• Manage and treat common diagnoses including Chest Pain, CHF, COPD, and Psychiatric presentations
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5 and deliver care using the Medhost EHR system
• Fulfill weekend coverage as needed (every other weekend expected) and respond to call requirements as needed
• Float to other units as needed
• Maintain required certifications (ACLS, BLS, CPI/Handle with Care, NIH, and PALS or ENPC) and adhere to all facility compliance requirements including consent for random drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure valid to practice in the state of Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience in an acute hospital setting
• At least one prior travel assignment completed
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI/Handle with Care, NIH, and PALS or ENPC — all required prior to start
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Medhost EHR
• Background managing high-acuity presentations such as chest pain, CHF, COPD, and behavioral health/psychiatric patients
• Professional, compassionate, and team-oriented approach to patient care
