Location Avera Queen of Peace Hospital Work Shift Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States of America) Pay Range $32.50 - $48.50 Position Highlights May be eligible for a sign on bonus up to $15,000.00! Student Loan Repayment: each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster. Schedule: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM; 72 hrs / 2 weeks including every third weekend and holiday. $3 shift differential for hours between 7 PM and 7 AM, $2 on weekends, and $5 on weekend nights. Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis, establishing objectives, defining interventions, and providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. What You Will Do Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan and all pertinent information to the health care team. Coordinate with other healthcare providers and provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting conditions, and consulting family members to establish diagnoses and objectives. Teach healthcare requirements by establishing care goals; instruct patients and families on conditions, medications, and self‑care skills; answer questions; provide information and resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring outcomes, reviewing records, and re‑evaluating care objectives. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection‑control policies, medication protocols, controlled‑substance regulations, and legal requirements; alert others to concerns. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keep patient care equipment operating normally by following procedures, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and requesting repairs. Keep patient care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications Must be able to work the scheduled hours, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including adequate visual acuity and effective communication, hearing, understanding speech, and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience Registered Nurse (RN) – active license in the state of practice (Board of Nursing). Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience 1–3 years of experience working in a clinical environment.
