About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care with cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients. CRRT experience is required. RNs should be able to titrate critical care drips, including inotropes and sedation. Description: The unit has a total of 28 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 for critical patients and 1:2 for others. There is one charge nurse and two house supervisors on duty. There are 1-3 CNAs available on the unit. The unit is staffed with intensivists and advanced practice providers 24/7. Respiratory therapy is also available in the ICU 24/7. The unit utilizes continuous monitoring systems. RNs must be able to recognize ECG changes and notify providers appropriately. Weekend scheduling requires a minimum of three shifts, and nurses may be floated to other ICUs or step-down units as needed. In addition, nurses are required to work into the permanent staff's holiday rotation schedule. There is no call or standby requirement associated with this position. Nurses are expected to wear royal blue scrubs as part of the dress code. The charting system in use is EPIC. This position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have strong clinical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. Flexibility and adaptability are essential due to potential floating requirements in the hospital.
