About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1+ year in Step Down/PCU License: Current RN License in Missouri Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only Must-Have Skills/Experience: 1+ year experience in Step Down/PCU, inpatient only Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and service standards. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups to include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice. Working conditions may include standing and walking most of the time on duty. Meet unit specific physical demands including significant bending, stooping, and lifting. May be required to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week, or work frequency according to patient care requirements. High risk exposure to blood and body fluids. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally. Utilizes the nursing process to provide care for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and service standards.
