Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mother Baby/Post Partum RN requiring active CA RN licensure and recent postpartum/newborn care experience for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Post Partum unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS and Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent full-time postpartum experience within the last 3 years
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Demonstrated skills in electronic fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and lab draws
• Experience administering high-risk medications including Magnesium, Oxytocin, and Insulin
• Proficiency in urine point-of-care and capillary blood glucose testing
• Knowledge of iStat testing and adult cardiac monitoring
• Skilled in newborn monitoring including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring
• Ability to perform heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns
• Knowledge of newborn medication administration and IV maintenance
• Familiarity with Bili-blankets/lights and radiant warmers
• Ability to support GYN teaching and post-operative bladder training
• Ability to support maternal-newborn education
• BSN preferred
• 3+ years of labor and delivery experience preferred
• 3+ years of postpartum experience preferred
• 1+ year of medical/surgical nursing experience preferred
• Last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care to postpartum mothers and newborns
• Support maternal-newborn and GYN patient teaching
• Accepts local candidates at the same pay rate as travel
