Let's skip the part where we tell you pharmacy is a "rewarding career full of opportunity." You already know that speech. You heard it during orientation week, right before someone handed you a lab coat and a promise that things would get more meaningful once you finished the six or eight years of school. Then you graduated, and shockingly, half your job turned into counting tablets by five and getting yelled at by an insurance company that's never met a patient in its life.

We think that's a waste of a doctorate. Frankly, so do you, or you wouldn't be reading a job ad with a frog joke in the subhead.

So here's the pitch. We're hiring a Pharmacist in Charge for our Rayne store, and by "in charge" we mean actually in charge. Not a licensed babysitter for the dispensary. Not someone whose main job is making sure the board doesn't shut us down. We want someone who walks in assuming they're going to run the place like it's theirs, because it basically is, and if you play this right, "basically" might eventually drop out of that sentence entirely. More on that in a minute.

The part where we brag a little

We've got exclusive access to technology most of the profession hasn't even heard rumors about yet: AI tools and NFC-enabled adherence tech that actually catches a patient before they fall off their meds, instead of three months later when they're back in the hospital and everyone shrugs. This stuff is real, it's already ours, and right now it's just sitting there, underused, like a Ferrari nobody's taken past the driveway. We need someone with the ambition to actually drive it.

Who should NOT apply

If your dream job is clocking in, filling scripts on autopilot, and clocking out without ever thinking about the patient again, we're not your people, and that's fine. Go be happy somewhere else. This role is for someone who's a little restless. Someone who's had that thought in the break room, more than once, that pharmacy could be so much more than a copay and a stapled bag.

Who SHOULD apply

You. Probably. If you're motivated, a little stubborn, and tired of watching a great degree get wasted on paperwork, come talk to us. We'll bring the technology, the backing, and a genuine plan to change how independent pharmacy gets practiced. You bring the desire. That's the one ingredient we can't supply.

Here's that "more on that" we promised

Somewhere down the road, maybe two years out, maybe three, if this is going well and you're the kind of person we think you are, there's a real path to owning this pharmacy outright. Not a title. Not a plaque. Actual ownership, and we'll teach you how to run it like an owner, not just survive it like an employee. That means learning the side of the business nobody covers in pharmacy school: how to build something that pays you back instead of something that just pays you. And here's the part most owners would never offer: the harder you work to grow this place, the more valuable it gets, and that growth doesn't get used against you at the finish line. You won't be punished with a higher price tag for doing exactly what we're asking you to do. Nobody else hiring a PIC in south Louisiana is offering that, because most of them don't want you to eventually not need them.

No pressure. It's not a requirement, and it's definitely not the reason to take this job. But it's on the table, and it's real, for the pharmacist ambitious enough to want it.
