Psychiatric Nurse 2

Psychiatric Nurse II Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (NNAMHS) is recruiting for multiple inpatient Psychiatric Nurse II positions at Dini Townsend Psychiatric Hospital in Sparks, Nevada. The role involves providing professional nursing care to individuals with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders. Responsibilities Assess and identify patient health care needs. Make comprehensive clinical observations and evaluations. Prepare nursing care plans. Administer medications as prescribed by a physician or designee. Monitor patients for medication side effects and allergic reactions. Provide crisis intervention. Help develop safety plan recommendations for patients. Participate in a multidisciplinary team managing a wide variety of patients and diagnoses. Ensure compliance with CMS standards, laws, regulations, and NNAMHS policies. Work a full‑time schedule that may include weekend and holiday shifts; variable schedule with overtime after 40 hours; possible shift differential pay. Qualifications Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse and two years of professional nursing experience, one of which included working in a facility or institution with individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities; OR one year of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. A Bachelor's degree in nursing is equivalent to a diploma or associate's degree plus one year of experience. Out‑of‑state applicants must have a temporary license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing and obtain permanent licensure during employment. Special Requirements Pre‑employment criminal history check and fingerprinting. Pre‑employment screening for controlled substances (pursuant to NRS 284.4066). CPR certification at the time of appointment and throughout employment. Valid Nevada driver's license at the time of appointment and throughout employment. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Training and Certification Completion of a certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute is required. Continued on‑going training and education are provided, including paid release time for approved trainings. BLS certification and Nevada driver's license must be kept current. Compensation Approximate annual salary range: $69,008.40 to $103,335.12. Pay grade: 39.
