Thermoplastic Marking Technician – Lead Roadway and Pavement Marking Field Installations Job Overview Company: Tri Valley Striping LLC Salary/Pay Rate: $30 to $40 per hour plus Performance Based Bonus Location: Fremont, CA (Travel Required within local area) Job/Employment Type: Full Time Project Scope: Commercial, Industrial, Government, and Federal Striping Mandatory Licences & Certifications: Valid Driver's License The Opportunity You will serve as a skilled technical execution specialist, installing high-durability roadway markings and specialty pavement legends. This role gives you the independence to operate advanced thermal pavement machinery while ensuring quality installations for public works and private infrastructure projects. How You Will Make An Impact Operate thermoplastic striping equipment, pre-melters, and support vehicles safely on active roadways. Install precise roadway markings, legends, crosswalks, bike lanes, and specialty pavement applications. Interpret complex construction plans, engineering layouts, and traffic control blueprints with high precision. Coordinate field traffic control setups to guarantee a safe, compliant workspace for the entire crew. Perform daily preventive maintenance and calibration on specialized ThermoLazer and thermal machinery. Deliver open, actionable feedback to management regarding project workflows and operational field safety. Required Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 1 year of hands-on thermoplastic pavement installation experience in a field operations role. Demonstrated ability to work independently in outdoor environments and active construction zones. Proven experience reading, interpreting, and executing work from traffic control plans and layout prints. Absolute flexibility to work variable schedules including nights, weekends, and overtime hours. Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving history. Willingness to travel up to 33% of working hours to various regional project sites. Preferred Qualifications & Experience 1 or more years of general commercial pavement marking or general construction field experience. Previous hands-on experience operating a ThermoLazer or specialized pre-melter equipment. Leadership background or direct experience managing field crew logistics and task delegation.
