Position Summary and QualificationsAs a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will be essential in delivering attentive, high-quality care to patients transitioning from the ICU. Your role will involve helping patients regain strength, prevent complications, and progress toward recovery. You will collaborate closely with a dedicated critical care team focused on enhancing lives daily.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering direct care to patients with intricate needs by administering medications, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), managing tubes and drains, and supporting advanced monitoring.
- Vigilantly observing for changes in heart rate, oxygen saturation, or neurological status, and promptly notifying the team to facilitate early intervention.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation to ensure effective teamwork and patient safety.
- Guiding patients and their families in understanding their conditions and providing support as they navigate serious health challenges and recovery processes.
- Collaborating closely with registered nurses, physicians, and specialists to assist patients in stabilizing and progressing from intensive care.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
- Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN).
- Graduate of a vocational school.

Located in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, we operate as a Critical Access Hospital with 25 beds.
