Substitute Registered Nurse

Registered School Nurse / Daily SubstituteThe Hebron Board of Education is seeking substitute registered nurses to work at Gilead Hill and Hebron Elementary Schools for the 2026-2027 school year. The school nurse will perform routine technical nursing duties and assist with other related duties involved in providing care for Hebron Public Schools students and staff.Duties/Responsibilities:Provide direct professional nursing services to students and staffAdminister medication with appropriate documentationMaintain accurate medical records to assure compliance with state mandatesPerform mandated screening proceduresComplete accident/incident reports for students/staffMaintain confidentiality regarding all school and health related issuesCompile daily attendance records for each studentPerform other health or school related work as assignedPeriodically teach health related lessons to studentsProvide health related trainings, as required, to staffRequired Skills/Abilities:Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary teamFamiliarity with school health, safety, and sanitation standards and proceduresUnderstanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practicesGood knowledge of data entry, record keeping, and the SNAP systemKnowledge of accepted procedures for disposing of used suppliesAbility to observe the general physical condition of patients to detect signs of abnormalitiesAbility to record observations completely, accurately, legibly, and conciselyAbility to communicate effectively in person and over telephoneAbility to exercise tact, initiative, and good judgment in working with peopleAbility to accept supervisionEducation and Experience:Licensed to practice as a nurse in the statePhysical Requirements:Must have the physical ability to execute the full performance of duties for the position, including but not limited to: reaching, some lifting, standing, walking, carrying, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and/or crawlingNon-Discrimination:The Hebron Board of Education is committed to a policy of equal opportunity/affirmative action for all qualified persons.
