The Land Manager job is located in downtown Denver with in-office and hybrid schedules available.

Role Description
The Land Manager will lead and oversee all land-related activities for the organization, including acquisitions, leasing, development, and divestitures. This role provides strategic leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on execution across all land functions while managing and mentoring a team of land professionals.
The Land Manager will coordinate complex, current and prospective land matters and work closely with interdisciplinary teams including engineering, geoscience, regulatory, legal, and operations. As a key contributor in a startup environment, this role requires versatility, autonomy, and the ability to adapt priorities as the business evolves. The ideal candidate is an experienced land professional who combines strong leadership with deep technical knowledge and sound judgment.
Reporting to the SVP of Land, this is a management role responsible for ensuring land support aligns with corporate, regional, and asset-level goals, while serving as a trusted advisor on complex land issues and supporting cross-functional initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of land professionals, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight
- Oversee all land functions, including acquisitions and divestitures, leasing, title and curative, surface, division orders, and land records
- Establish strategic priorities, goals, and objectives to create a repeatable and efficient workflow.
- Supervise land due diligence for producing and non-producing assets and manage complex, high-value land matters
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, geoscience, legal, regulatory, operations, and external stakeholders to support asset development and growth
- Support corporate reporting requirements, including reserves reporting and maintaining revolving lines of credit through title confirmation.
- Negotiate oil and gas leases, surface use agreements, rights-of-way, and other land-related contracts
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing leasing, drilling, and production and ensure satisfactory performance regarding internal and external audits.
- Propose and Manage land-related capital and G&A budgets and support strategic planning initiatives
- Contribute to the efforts to develop robust community relations, and develop relationships with external stakeholders, including peer operators and industry contacts
- Promote ethical conduct, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in land processes and practices
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in upstream Oil & Gas Land
- 3+ years of experience working the DJ Basin
- Extensive knowledge of operational land functions including surface, title, and land administration
- Proven ability to lead and mentor land professionals while managing shifting priorities
- Strong working knowledge of regulatory, contractual, and operational considerations affecting upstream land
- Demonstrated success negotiating with landowners, stakeholders, and counterparties
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and independently resolve complex land issues
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Management, Energy Management, Business, Law, or a related field
- Certified Professional Landman (CPL) strongly preferred

Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $250,000. Actual individual salaries are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other organizational needs. In addition, our Benefits & Compensation package includes medical and dental coverage, 401(k) match, and generous paid time off.
