Cologne Academy (PreKindergarten-8th Grade Public School) - Cologne, MN is located in Carver County and currently enrolls approximately 750 students between our onsite and virtual academy. Qualifications:

• Licensed by the MN Department of Health as an Occupational Therapist
• Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited institution
• National Board Occupational Therapy Certified
• Pediatric experience required - school experience preferred
• Excellent skills in communication and collaboration (families and staff)
• Team oriented - working with other providers, teachers and families

Program Description:

The occupational therapist will provide direct and indirect services to students in Pre-K/Kindergarten through 8th grade. The students needing occupational therapy range from mild needs to those who demonstrate more significant needs due to autism, cognitive delays and other neurological/developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide developmentally appropriate service based on individual needs.
• Develop and implement IEPs that address each child's unique needs.
• Use evidence-based practices and assessments to monitor progress and adjust services as needed.
• Work collaboratively with teams of service providers (e.g., speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, 1-1 paraprofessionals and speech education teachers).
• Member of a team that provides integrated services in a multi-disciplinary manner to promote greater generalizability of skills.
• Serve as a resource for general education staff to ensure that needs are accommodated in the general education setting (including adaptive seating, sensory and other equipment needs).
• Indirect services in the general education setting focused on working with teacher to generalize student skills.
• Participate in planning and conducting multidisciplinary evaluations to determine needs for related services.
• Maintain accurate records, including assessment data, progress reports, and other required documentation for compliance purposes.
• Complete service logs on a timely basis for Medical Assistance billing submissions.
• Train and support paraprofessionals assigned to children on the ECSE teacher's caseload.
• Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis including recertification for CIP, workshops, in-services, professional reading materials, and/or other available offerings consistent with district and program priorities.
