American Health Imaging is hiring a CT Technologist at our Athens, GA location. This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday 8am - 4pm.The CT Technologist performs a variety of standard, and specialty Computed Tomography (CT) procedures to produce imaging studies using radiology technology to assist physicians with formulating a medical diagnosis while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. Specifically, conducts radiology exams and documents clinically appropriate results for interpretive physicians and records.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates the company's values in daily activities
- Performs complex tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues
- Positions patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and to ensure the safety of patients and staff
- Screens patients for CT safety prior to procedure performance
- Starts I.V.'s, administers contrast media as directed and per protocol
- Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and labels appropriately
- Loads and operates power injectors for contrast media administration
- Applies the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice
- Maintains knowledge of, observes, and enforces the safety measures in the Environment of Care
- Maintains accurate patient records.
- Assists in other modalities as requested and as allowed by licensure/certification
- Knowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocols
- Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelines
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
- Knowledge of current technical skills and procedural understanding to perform a full range of scanning procedures
- Knowledge of and adherence to ALARA principles
- Knowledge of basic level computer skills
- Skill in organizing and prioritizing work and following assignments through to completion
- Skill in written and verbal communication
- Ability to operate and adjust scanning and ancillary equipment
- Ability to take initiative to improve processes, think strategically, and identify trends
- Ability to provide open, honest feedback to improve decision-making
- Ability to maintain and build constructive relationships that produce results
- Ability to work independently, as a team, and in a fast-paced environment and meet established deadlines
- Ability to be flexible in schedule and adaptable to constant change
- Ability to effectively handle details with accuracy
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and on-time approval to work as scheduled
- Ability to deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external customers by communicating with integrity and compassion
- Ability to resolve service recovery issues and understand when to escalate to the next level
- Ability to remain calm in difficult situations
- Graduate of 24-month AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology
- 12 months previous experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality
- ARRT certification in Computed Tomography
- Applicable State Licensure, where required
- IV credentialed if applicable
- BLS certification preferred
