Position Overview The Loudon County School Based Masters Level Liaison Counselor provides counseling, liaison services, and program coordination to children, youth, families, and schools within the Loudon County School System. This role integrates trauma‑informed care, psycho‑social assessment, crisis intervention, and staff training. Duties & Responsibilities Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children and adolescents ages 4‑21 using modalities such as CBT, TF‑CBT, EMDR, DBT, ARC, PCIT, and play therapy. Complete diagnostic psycho‑social assessments, intake reports, and treatment plans within specified timeframes (intake within 5–10 business days, treatment plans within 30 days). Document progress, treatment plans, crisis plans, consent, and other required records in the EMR and submit daily contact logs and monthly productivity reports on time. Attend weekly treatment teams with school personnel and program staff; present clinical updates, modify interventions, and collaborate on service planning. Conduct evidence‑based training for teachers (5 Tier I training sessions per year) and students (3 Tier II psychoeducational sessions per year). Deliver 50‑60 individual client sessions monthly and 12‑18 family sessions monthly. Coordinate with community agencies and the Loudon County Clinic to ensure continuity of care and timely referrals. Provide crisis intervention, emergency services, and in‑home or community visits as needed. Advocate for clients, provide linkage and referral services, and participate in IEP/504 and other school‑related meetings. Maintain professional rapport with school and agency personnel and represent the Center's policies and CARF standards. Compensation Starting salary: approximately $50,751 per year based on relevant experience and education. Schedule & Travel Outpatient clinic hours: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; availability for in‑person attendance during the workday. Attendance at school schedules as required; evening family sessions may be scheduled. Travel required to client homes and community settings; personal vehicle required with a valid driver’s license and F endorsement. Tools & Technology Daily computer competency (Word, Excel, EMR); scanner/printer use and professional phone etiquette. Education & Qualifications Master’s degree in Human Services or related field with coursework in cultural diversity, human development, mental illness treatment, substance abuse, abuse, and mental retardation. Demonstrated knowledge and competency in mental health service provision and leadership. F endorsement on driver’s license and dependable personal vehicle required. Experience or coursework in cultural diversity, human development, mental illness, substance abuse, abuse, suicide, mental retardation. Experience & Knowledge One year of related experience preferred. Experience working with children preferred; other relevant skills acceptable. Knowledge or training in the Re‑Education Philosophy or willingness to acquire such training during employment. Physical & Other Requirements Effective counseling of children and families; professional presentation and teamwork. Ability to conduct and process group sessions, exercise sound judgment under pressure, set boundaries, and practice effective de‑escalation techniques. Valid driver’s license; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching. CPR/First Aid certification required annually.
