Manufacturing Engineer IIThe Manufacturing Engineer II performs complex functions in the design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation of manufacturing operations. Prepares complicated plans, conducts support studies, and provides analysis or tests in the development of manufacturing operations. Responsibilities are diverse in scope where analysis of situations or data requires sound technical judgment. Utilizes strong lean manufacturing skillset to reduce cost and cycle time.Job ResponsibilitiesResolves complex engineering problems by collecting and analyzing information; researching, analyzing, adapting, and modifying engineering techniques; recommending solutions; reviewing drawings, schematics, and diagrams; evaluating installations, components, materials, and suppliers; resolving design integration issues; developing specifications and safety standardsStrong lean manufacturing skill set and knowledge with experience implementing lean methodologies/toolsHigh level of experience establishing labor standards, line balancing, and factory layouts to improve material flow and labor efficiencies to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targetsDevelops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment and practices; soliciting observations of stakeholders and application of Lean Manufacturing techniquesAssures compliance with all applicable specs and regulationsEssential Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesEducation and Experience:Bachelor's Degree – Engineering requiredAdvanced Engineering Degree and/or Six Sigma – Black Belt Certification preferredA minimum of 5 years aircraft manufacturing/maintenance/repair experience, or equivocal combination of education and work experienceKnowledge:Adept at analyzing, interpreting and resolving complex informationAnalytical and statistical toolsStrong attention to detailSkills:Proficiency with planning practices and toolsProficient in Lotus Notes, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Power Point), MES, CATIA, & SAPStrong organizational skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsPresentation skillsUtilization of Lean Production conceptsAbilities:Systemic visionData analysis and consolidationCope with deadlines and pressured situationsInteract with senior management, staff, and production/technical staffWorking Conditions / Environment/Special Requirements:Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, state and federal regulations.Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if requiredGeneral Commitment for All Employees:Authorized to work in the U.S.Foreign travel may be required - ability to obtain a passport and a Brazilian visaCommitment to company values and complies with department norms, policies, directives, and proceduresIncorporates Lean and P3E processes and concepts into daily activities.
