Travel RN - Operating RoomAmerican TravelerJennings, Louisiana, United StatesPosition ID: P-766374Position status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: DaysLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1Start date: 2026-11-16$2,467.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years specialty experience and prior travel assignment history at a rural hospital setting.DetailsWork in the Operating Room of a small rural hospital with a multi-disciplined staffing approachOR circulator responsible for OR surgery, C-sections, PACU, and Endoscopy coverageAverage daily census of 10 with 4 operating roomsDay shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PMFloat to other departments as needed during low census periodsOn-call required 1 day per week and every 4th to 5th weekendMust arrive within 30 minutes of call-outFirst week includes 2 days of buddy call for unit orientationNot a designated trauma facility, though occasional trauma cases may present through the ERRequirementsActive RN license (Compact or LA) in hand upon submissionCurrent certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA certifications required)Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years of specialty experience requiredEpic EMR experience requiredPrior travel nursing experience required; unit does not accept first-time travelersExperience with gynecological, general surgical, pediatric general surgical, orthopedic, urological, and endoscopic procedures preferredSkills in blood/blood product administration, cardiac monitoring, conscious sedation monitoring, and peripheral IV insertionKnowledge of infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, and universal protocol (time out) proceduresExperience with electrosurgical units and fiber optic light sources/cordsDriver's license and up-to-date NURSYS report (within 4 weeks) required for considerationAdditional InformationPerform circulating RN duties across surgical specialties including gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, and endoscopyMay be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring extended facility presence during emergency eventsMust be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year'sOrientation held 5 days a weekTwo Manager/Supervisor references required prior to start (Charge RN references not accepted)RTO must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescissionCandidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not acceptedFormer Ochsner Health permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation before returning as travelersFirst-time travelers will not be considered for this position
