Assistant Fitness Manager

Position Purpose: Build a cohesive Personal Training team, ensure a healthy pipeline of clients, and provide an exceptional fitness experience for all members. Responsibilities Ensure daily sales targets are met, especially on weekends or when the Fitness Manager is absent, by leading the team and driving sales initiatives. Promote personal training packages and build rapport with members to drive sales. Achieve sales targets for personal training and small group training, consistently meeting or exceeding goals. Collaborate with the membership sales team to support new member onboarding and ensure smooth transition into the club experience. Conduct personalized welcome workouts for new members to assess fitness needs and goals. Guide new members through their initial club experience, fostering a supportive environment that encourages personal training sales, retention, and engagement. Facilitate professional development for personal trainers via regular coaching sessions and continuous support. Communicate goals, expectations, and procedures to staff, ensuring clear understanding of roles. Supervise maintenance and cleanliness of the facility, including equipment, locker rooms, and common areas. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining certifications and implementing safety protocols. Qualifications 2‑3 years of customer service experience. 1 year of sales experience. 1 year of supervisory experience. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent relationship‑building and influencing skills across all levels. Strong attention to detail, systematic problem‑solving, and effective time management. Experience or strong interest in the fitness industry (preferred). Embraces our core values. Requirements Availability to work nights and weekends. Successful completion of a background check. Valid Personal Training certification. CPR certification required within 30 days of hire. Ability to work in a gym setting, lift more than 40 lbs, bend routinely, and operate computer systems. Eligible for Additional Compensation Variable income opportunities including commission and bonus.
