Respiratory Therapist - CRT or RRT

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift: 4x12.0

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by administering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed, adhering to the scope of professional license and requiring minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients upon discharge.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments and operate various ventilatory equipment, both invasive and non-invasive.
• Utilize oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizers for medication administration, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning via different methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal).
• Monitor oximetry and capnography as per policy, conducting routine evaluations of patient chest x-rays.
• Facilitate pulmonary function studies and assist with respiratory-related procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, chest tube placement).
• Administer tracheostomy care, including tube insertion and removal.
• Perform arterial punctures and evaluate ventilation efficiency while documenting patient test results.
• Engage in cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Set up and self-test all ventilatory equipment, maintaining mechanical ventilation as necessary.
• Communicate with healthcare teams regarding treatment efficacy, documenting all treatment details and patient responses in chart records.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current Respiratory Therapy license.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS.
• Experience in performing respiratory care treatments and monitoring.
