Project Manager

Project Manager for the Traction Division At ABB, we help industries run leaner and cleaner. This role reports to the Senior Project Management Manager, Traction and is based in Mechanicsville, VA. The Project Manager will support the execution of large and moderately complex projects, ensuring compliance with ABB policies and managing operations of the local manufacturing unit across Production, Procurement, Quality, Operational Excellence, and Logistics. Responsibilities Lead the project team, establish the project execution approach, and oversee hand‑over, execution planning, and monitoring and control activities for both internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals. Serve as the key contact for the customer and escalation point for project issues. Define and apply project scheduling techniques to proactively manage schedule risks and avoid deviations that impact On Time Delivery. Plan and track all project activities, identify scheduling risks and opportunities to deliver projects on time according to commitments to the customer and ABB. Manage relationships with stakeholders in their area of responsibility and ensure alignment. Qualifications Engineering degree; additional qualifications in Business Administration are advantageous. 8+ years of experience managing large‑scale industrial/electronics manufacturing and customer installation projects. Process‑oriented mindset with flexibility to seek innovative solutions that meet customer and business requirements. Strong familiarity with project management software, methodologies, and best practices. Capacity to handle multiple projects concurrently and prioritize effectively. Prior experience working within production set‑up and delivery. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Eligible for work authorization in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Experience with large‑scale traction/rail projects. Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
