Working Hours:
40 hours per week with on-call responsibilities.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday.
Shift Details:
8-hour shifts, 5 days a week (United States).
Position Overview:
In this role, you will operate under the guidance of the non-invasive cardiology supervisor. The echocardiography team is responsible for conducting a variety of echocardiograms, including 2D, M-Mode, color Doppler, pulse wave Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, transesophageal echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and other related assessments, adhering to established standards and practices at a high level of technical proficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of an associate degree in echocardiography or an accredited training program is preferred; a High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Familiarity with equipment such as GE Vivid E95, TEE probes (including sterilization processes), and Epic software is preferred.
- Proficiency in typing and computer skills is advantageous.
- A minimum of one year of hospital experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate patient identification and prioritize safety.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Exhibit knowledge of universal precautions.
- Understand the role in fire and disaster preparedness.
- Engage in mandatory training programs.
- Keep the workspace organized and clean.
- Accurately complete forms, records, and logs for billing purposes.
- Prepare echocardiographic worksheets for physician review and interpretation.
- Contribute to the department's Quality Assurance process through precise and timely data collection.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently while fostering positive professional relationships with colleagues, physicians, and patients.
- Complete assignments autonomously, collaborate effectively in a team, and accept guidance from supervisors, patients, and the public in a courteous manner.
- Resolve conflicts and utilize the chain of command to achieve appropriate outcomes.
- Respond to STAT calls with sound knowledge and prioritize both STAT and routine orders effectively.
- Exhibit technical proficiency in all echocardiographic procedures.
- Employ critical thinking skills to assess patient conditions and provide additional views to assist cardiologists in care and treatment.
- Manage supplies and forms within budget constraints.
- Participate in required continuing education and complete all mandatory training requirements.
- Prepare patients by assessing compliance with NPO status, facilitating transport, placing electrodes and blood pressure cuffs, ensuring IV access if necessary, securing EKG monitoring equipment, remaining with the patient at all times, assisting under the direction of an RN, and maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
