Job Title Adjunct Instructor (Mathematics) Location Prairie View, Texas Department Department of Mathematics, Brailsford College of Arts & Sciences Position Overview Non‑tenure track adjunct instructor responsible for teaching undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses, managing course responsibilities, and participating in departmental service. Teaching Load Up to 6 credit hours per semester, based on availability, with duties including in‑class, hybrid, and/or online instruction. Responsibilities Teach mathematics and statistics courses (in‑class, hybrid, and/or online). Provide tutoring, grade assignments, and maintain accurate records. Post grades, manage attendance, and hold office hours. Submit required departmental end‑of‑semester clearance items. Comply with all departmental, college, university, and Texas A&M University System policies. Perform services to the department, college, university, and the profession as assigned. Carry out other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics or statistics. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation applications. Strong multitasking, cooperative teamwork, interpersonal, communication, planning, and organization skills. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in statistics or mathematics with graduate courses in statistics. Certification for online instruction (Quality Matters certification accepted). Three years of full‑time university‑level teaching experience in mathematics and/or statistics. Evidence of successful and effective undergraduate teaching.
