Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: Winter Contract (13 or 18 weeks) Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in oncology or related experience License: Any active state RN license or compact license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, OCN (preferred) Must-Have: Must have oncology experience. Must work a minimum of every other holiday. Must have EPIC experience. Must have experience in Stepdown/Advanced Care units. Must be able to float to all Stepdown/Advanced Care units. Description: This is a 35-bed medical and radiation oncology unit specializing in oncology and hematology patients. The unit sees both Med-Surg and Advanced Care patients. A high volume of blood products and chemotherapy patients are cared for on this unit. Nurses administer chemotherapy with ONS Certification. Targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but can be up to 1:5-6. Nurses will be fitted for N95 prior to working in designated units. Travelers may be assigned to float to various units based on need. Floating may include high-risk respiratory units or other facility campuses. Candidates must be comfortable with a flexible floating schedule. Travelers must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Maximum of 14 days off allowed per contract. BLS & ACLS certification is mandatory, and candidates must interpret cardiac strips. Physically demanding tasks may be part of job responsibilities. There will be a mix of acuity levels seen in patient assignments. All nursing staff will be part of an interdisciplinary care team. Travel nurse candidates will be the first to float as needed.
