Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Banking Operations Specialist to support a broad range of operational and administrative activities within a banking environment. This position is responsible for processing and maintaining documentation reviewing transactions and records for accuracy completing reporting and analysis resolving operational issues and supporting various banking products and processes.

The ideal candidate will have previous banking or financial operations experience strong attention to detail proficiency with 10-key and Microsoft Office and the ability to accurately manage high transaction volumes while meeting established production goals and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Banking & Operational Support

• Perform moderately complex operational and administrative activities within established procedures and guidelines.

• Process file record service and organize documentation associated with banking products and operational processes.

• Review transactions and documentation to ensure proper procedures and requirements are followed.

• Handle a broad range of responsibilities across areas that may include:

  • Retail banking

  • Credit cards

  • Small business banking

  • Consumer lending

  • Mortgage banking

  • Collections and recovery

  • Loan origination

  • Auto finance

• Accurately process monetary and transactional activities.

• Manage high transaction volumes while maintaining accuracy and meeting established production goals.

• Support loan documentation and other banking-related records and processes.

Documentation & Quality Control

• Review documentation for accuracy completeness and compliance with established procedures.

• Maintain accurate records associated with banking transactions and operational activities.

• Identify documentation discrepancies and resolve routine to moderately complex issues.

• Maintain exceptional attention to detail throughout all processing activities.

• Ensure established banking policies procedures and regulatory requirements are followed.

Reporting & Analysis

• Complete regular reporting and analysis requests.

• Research and resolve operational discrepancies and processing issues.

• Analyze information to identify potential errors or problems.

• Recommend and implement solutions for routine operational issues.

• Contribute to workflow and process improvements as knowledge of the operation develops.

Customer Service & Issue Resolution

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding billing service requests account issues suggestions and complaints.

• Provide professional and accurate customer service.

• Independently resolve routine to moderately complex customer and operational issues using established guidelines.

• Escalate more complex issues to senior team members supervisors or appropriate subject matter experts.

• Handle challenging customer situations professionally and effectively.

Team & Process Support

• Work effectively within a collaborative team environment.

• Adapt to new procedures processes and changing business requirements.

• Exercise independent judgment within established guidelines.

• Assist with training new team members as needed.

• Work effectively with minimal supervision.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• College degree preferred.

• 13 years of experience in an operations-related role.

• Previous banking or financial services experience strongly preferred.

• Basic understanding of:

  • Banking policies and procedures

  • Government regulations

  • Accounting principles

  • Loan documentation

• Proficiency with 10-key with a high degree of speed and accuracy.

• Ability to accurately process high transaction volumes.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

• Comfortable navigating multiple computer systems and applications simultaneously.

• Strong analytical research and problem-resolution skills.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
