WHAT YOU WILL DO: SEAS (Single Entry Access to Services) Navigator position is responsible for intake and short-term resource navigation to services for children and youth in Whatcom County ages birth - 21 with special healthcare needs, prenatal parents, and parents with a child birth-5, and parents in need of perinatal behavioral/mental health supports. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday between 8AM and 6PM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

WHAT YOU WILL DO: SEAS (Single Entry Access to Services) Navigator position is responsible for intake and short-term resource navigation to services for children and youth in Whatcom County ages birth - 21 with special healthcare needs, prenatal parents, and parents with a child birth-5, and parents in need of perinatal behavioral/mental health supports. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday between 8AM and 6PM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides centralized intake and short-term resource navigation to local services for children and youth in Whatcom County, ages birth - 21, with special healthcare needs and any any child 0-5.
- Provides centralized intake and short-term resource navigation to local services for adults needing postpartum support during the perinatal period.
- Assists families in identifying and gaining access to community and financial services, such as medical/health providers, developmental services, postpartum support resources, basic needs, and additional resources as needed.
- Completes linkages and follow through back to physicians and specialists once a referral has been received and followed.
- Performs data input of family and child intake information using local data guidelines set by funders, using multiple databases and spreadsheets.
- May participate with other community members in outreach and Child Find activities for children and youth ages birth - 21 in order to inform the community about SEAS and how it works.
- Attend weekly staff meetings, department, and agency wide meetings as scheduled.
- Knowledge of related resources or ability to access or learn resources.
- Proficient in the use of computers and related information technologies, including spreadsheet and/or database software.
- Must be able to adapt interpersonal skills in response to individual styles, personalities and cultures.
- An understanding of local social and health services systems.
- A background in child development resources or ability to learn child development resources.
- A background in postpartum support resources or ability to learn postpartum support resources.
- Completed TB test and submit test results prior to hire date.
- Criminal records check to ascertain that the applicant has not been convicted of child abuse or neglect offense per Washington State Child Abuse Law (Ch. 486, Laws of 1987) or DSHS licensing requirements.
- Current First Aid card and Infant/Child CPR training (or obtain within 30 days), and must maintain current certificates for length of employment.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License or obtain by date of hire. Must submit abstract of driving record for previous 3 years prior to start date.
- If hiring for a bilingual position. Must be able to speak, read, and write with proficiency and fluency in the required language.
