We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer II - IV in our San Francisco, CA or Sacramento, CA offices.Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Mechanical Engineer II- IV you will be responsible for creating basic designs under the direction of senior engineers and/or senior designers, performing equipment selections, and load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes. Individuals in this position must demonstrate the ability to progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects working in conjunction with a technical team.Additional responsibilities include:Conducts field inspections to determine existing conditions and to coordinate new work then assists Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis and other technical reports and drawings.Coordinates with other disciplines and work in close contact with the entire design teamCreates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer perform equipment selections, load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizesRepresent Syska Hennessy Group and work in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)Master drawing organization format and company standardsAssists senior engineer and/or senior designer in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets.Assists the senior engineer / senior designer in processing RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and AddendaBegins to establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer, develop specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes.Participates in / Ensure / Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others.Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspections reports.Represents Syska Hennessy Group and works in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.Job RequirementsSuccessful candidates for the Mechanical Engineer role should demonstrate strong REVIT, and MEP skills from mark-ups through the production of detailed drawings and have basic knowledge of construction documentation and design phase requirements. Someone with knowledge of trade specific design and calculation software including energy analysis software (CFD or Trane) would be a good fit for this dynamic role.Additional requirements include:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an Accredited InstitutionMinimum of 18 months to 7+ years of relevant experience in the MEP field working with projects such as Aviation, Healthcare, Commercial, and Mission Critical.Latest version of AutoCAD MEP and REVIT requiredBasic understanding of proper system selectionBasic knowledge of applicable codesFE certification requiredExperience in Mission Critical, Science + Technology, Healthcare and interest in Project Management greatly preferred.BenefitsAs an employee with Syska Hennessy Group, you will be part of a global firm with an amazing history!
