Medical Transcriptionist – Maryview Medical CenterThe Medical Transcriptionist interprets and transcribes the dictation into patient history, exam notes, operative reports, referral letters, and other documents that may be requested. As the Medical Transcriptionist, it is important to follow patient confidentiality guidelines and legal documentation requirements.Essential Functions:Perform data entry and data retrievals services, providing data for inclusion in medical records and transmission to physiciansProduce medical reports, correspondence, records, patient-care information, statistics, medical research, and administrative materialTranslate medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded forms to ensure the accuracy of patient recordsReview and edit transcribed reported or dictated material for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminologyPerform a variety of clerical tasks, such as submitting insurance claims, typing, filing, and operating office machinesOther duties as assignedEducation:High School Degree or GEDAssociates Degree in Medical Transcription preferred, not requiredCertifications:Certified Medical Transcriptionist preferred, not requiredExperience:Previous experience in a hospital or health care setting preferred, not requiredRangeMinimum: $19.03Maximum: $28.54Skills & Abilities:Strong communication and organization skillsAbility to listen intently to recordings for detailsAbility to provide error-free work in a fast-pasted environmentEngage with staff and patients in a professional mannerBon Secours Mercy Health is an equal opportunity employer.As a Bon Secours Mercy Health associate, you're part of a Mission that matters.
