Job Skills & Requirements No prior experience is required. Military veterans and people with security, firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply. Shift openings: various days – Thursday–Friday (every other Wed), 1st shift (08:00–17:00). Rate of pay: $18.36/hour. This is a part‑time position; flexible availability may allow up to 39 hours per week. This is NOT an armed security position. Weapons are not permitted on the premises, including in personal vehicles parked on the premises. Please see Minimum Qualifications below. Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service by assisting client staff, visitors, and coworkers and maintaining a professional demeanor. Observe and report any suspicious activities and incidents. Maintain a visible security presence and conduct guard duties in lobbies, reception areas, control centers, etc. Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols of assigned areas. Impose access control: ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas, check employee and vendor IDs, and follow access procedures. Enforce safety policies and report any safety concerns. Respond to emergencies, administer CPR/First Aid/AED care, and communicate with emergency personnel. Communicate with client staff, follow client requests, and keep supervisors updated. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent (GED). Aged 21+ and Michigan CPL or LEOSA cardholder may apply for armed work. Pass a drug screening at time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana). No felony convictions per MCL 338.1060. No misdemeanor convictions related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapon offenses, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including marijuana), or multiple alcohol‑related offenses. Ability to sit, stand, walk for 8–12 hours, lift at least 50 lbs (70 lbs for armed work). Certifications: CPR, First Aid, and AED (child, infant, adult) or willingness to obtain. Good vision (20 feet) and hearing in loud environments. Computing and smart phone proficiency for emails and training. Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English. Professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills, personal integrity, positive attitude. Complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.
