Associate Veterinarian - Animal Health Clinic

Position Overview Animal Health Clinic in Manchester, Tennessee, a well‑established full‑service small animal hospital, is hiring a full‑time Veterinarian. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing high‑quality veterinary care, possesses excellent communication skills, and works collaboratively with a team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff. Key Responsibilities Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups Client communication and education Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery Maintain accurate medical records Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications and following controlled‑substance protocols Promote teamwork and staff efficiency Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure the highest standards are upheld Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels Perform other duties as assigned by management Qualifications (Required) Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university Current State Veterinary License DEA registration obtained and maintained 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice Strong diagnostic and clinical skills Excellent surgical and dental skills Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to providing compassionate and high‑quality veterinary care Ability to communicate effectively, efficiently, and timely with all members of the medical and hospital staff Client communication skills: elicit information, establish rapport, and offer explanations to pet owners Display confidence and reassurance when dealing with pets experiencing severe stress, illness, or pain Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks involving climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) Clinical knowledge and skills in examining and assessing animals, performing cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological examinations, and prescribing appropriate treatment Problem‑solving ability to develop solutions for high‑quality veterinary hospital management Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and internal staff Professionalism and willingness to provide and receive constructive feedback Business acumen: understanding of veterinary hospital management and finances Ethics knowledge: understanding ethical principles guiding patient care decisions Commitment to continuing education and facilitation of learning for others Benefits Signing, retention, and relocation packages up to $75,000 Medical, dental, and vision insurance Competitive salary and production bonus (no negative accrual option available) Paid parental leave (birth, adoption, foster) 401(k) with discretionary contribution Team member pet discounts Emotional wellbeing support, including Calm app access and 24/7 EAP CE stipends and career development resources Grant Circle – relief fund for personal hardship Local hospital culture backed by national resources Interested candidates may send a résumé to Hudson Cutshall at View email address on click.appcast.io.
