Special Education Paraprofessional
Eagle Ridge Academy is a tuition-free classical, college-preparatory charter school serving students and families in grades K-12. Eagle Ridge offers an academically rigorous education that uses a time-tested, classical, liberal arts curriculum.
Responsibilities:
- Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives as well as providing an opportunity for all special education students to participate in classroom activities.
- Administers tests, homework, make-up work, etc. for the purpose of supporting teachers in the classroom.
- Collaborates with supervising teacher(s) or other staff as assigned for the purpose of communicating information, resolving issues, and providing services in compliance with established guidelines.
- Monitors special education students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
Hours are 7:30am - 3:30pm.
Minimum qualifications include: High School Diploma or equivalent. Applicants must be considered highly qualified to work as a special education paraprofessional by their start date per the Minnesota Department of Education. Applicants meet the HQ requirement if they have: Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesota's standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR An associate's (or higher) degree; Minnesota's standard: An AA, AS, AAS, (or higher) degree OR Receive a passing score on the Para Pro, Para Educator, or Para Pathways Assessment.
Salary $21.50-26.99 per hour. Position: full-time, school year.
