Job Description Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION Job description: Thoroughbred Wellness & Recovery is a dedicated behavioral health provider offering detox and residential mental health services to adults in Cartersville. We are seeking compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Techs (BHTs) to play a vital role in maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for individuals receiving care. We are currently hiring for full-time 8-hour shifts with openings on: Day Shift Evening Shift Overnight Shift Schedules include weekend and holiday coverage. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide direct supervision, engagement, and support to guests in detox and residential mental health settings. Conduct safety checks, monitor behaviors, and document observations accurately. Assist with daily routines, activities, meals, and therapeutic programming as directed. Respond promptly to crisis situations, behavioral escalations, and medical emergencies using de-escalation techniques. Work collaboratively with clinical, nursing, and medical staff to support individualized treatment plans. Maintain confidentiality, ethical standards, and compliance with all facility policies. Provide transportation in company vehicles for guests when needed. Help create a respectful, calm, and recovery-focused environment. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred. Experience: Previous experience in mental health, detox, residential treatment, behavioral health, or crisis intervention preferred. License: Valid driver’s license with no DUIs in the past 5 years and no more than three moving violations in the past 3 years. Certifications: CPR and de- escalation/restraint training preferred (training available if needed). Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, professionalism, and ability to remain calm under pressure. Additional Information Full-time, on-site position in a 24/7 treatment facility. Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
