Bus Monitor

Bus MonitorBethlehem Area School District is seeking dependable and safety-focused Bus Monitors to assist with the safe transportation of students to and from school. This part-time position is approximately 29 hours per week and includes paid required training prior to beginning the assignment. Bus Monitors work alongside bus drivers to help maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly environment for all students during transportation.Key Responsibilities:Assists the bus driver in safely transporting students to and from schoolMonitors student conduct on the bus or van to maintain a safe and appropriate environmentBased on a student's individual needs, may assist students with boarding and exiting the bus and securing safety equipmentCommunicates with the bus driver and appropriate staff regarding student needs or concernsPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent requiredAbility to work effectively with students and maintain a safe and positive transportation environmentDependable, patient, and able to follow safety proceduresAbility to complete required paid training prior to beginning employmentPre-Employment Requirements:Must undergo and receive a satisfactory result on a pre-employment drug screeningMust successfully complete and submit all required background clearances in accordance with Pennsylvania School Code employment requirementsMust complete the Pennsylvania School Personnel Health Record following a conditional job offer and prior to the first day of employmentMust successfully complete all required Act 168 employment history review requirements prior to beginning employmentRate: $21.22 per hourEQUAL RIGHTS AND OPPORTUNITIES POLICY: As an equal rights and opportunities agency, the Bethlehem Area School District will not discriminate in its educational programs, activities, or employment practices, based on race, national origin, sex, disability, age, religion, ancestry, or any other legally protected classification.
