Teacher - Grade 2

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team at Locust Grove Primary as a Grade 2 Teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, engage students in meaningful learning experiences, and promote their academic and social development. This full-time position requires a commitment to creating a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration among young learners. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state curriculum standards and meet the diverse needs of students. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social and emotional growth of each student. Assess and monitor student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback to students and parents. Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to enhance the educational experience and address individual student needs. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic achievements. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Maintain classroom management and discipline in accordance with school policies and procedures. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Organize and participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and other activities that promote community involvement and student engagement. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; a valid teaching certification for Grade 2 is required. Experience teaching in an elementary school setting, preferably with Grade 2 students. Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies for young learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction and student engagement. Ability to create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
