About the Position

Job Title: Inpatient Pharmacist Profession: Pharmacist Specialty: Pharmacy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 4x10.0 Hours per Shift: Varies Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical pharmacy experience preferred License: Current and active state unrestricted Pharmacy license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (PALS can be obtained on-site) Must-Have: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Current medication knowledge Flexibility to move where needed Description: Pharmacists with hospital experience are required. Inpatient pharmacy experience is preferred. Candidates must be flexible to work nights, days, and weekends as needed. Should be able to process prescriptions in a timely manner. Candidates must adhere to policies and process control for substances according to regulations. Ability to counsel patients in a timely manner is essential. A strong team fit is necessary, as the unit works collaboratively. The pharmacy operation is robust, filling an average of around 1000 prescriptions daily. There are opportunities for professional growth, development, and involvement in community outreach. Pharmacists provide healthcare and collaborate with clinical teams within the community. Candidates are expected to have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Traits such as reliability, self-motivation, critical thinking, and integrity are valued in this role. Staff includes 6-7 outpatient pharmacists and 4 outpatient technicians, contributing to a supportive environment. The work environment is focused on continuous improvement and professional development. Clock-in/out for shifts is tracked through a specific system, and there is a strict attendance policy. The dress code requires scrubs or business professional attire. Candidates should possess a positive attitude and be flexible to meet the needs of the unit. Participation in educational programs to maintain competency is required. Additional expectations include preparation of monthly operational reports and participation in departmental orientation and training. Other job functions as assigned will be part of the role. Candidates must successfully pass a background check and drug screening prior to hiring.
