About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President - Counsel for the Americas Division, with a focus on privacy and information security law. The successful candidate will be responsible for the review, analysis, and counsel on existing and emerging privacy and information security laws and regulations. This role involves providing legal support and advice for the data privacy framework, data transfer policies, and agreements, as well as monitoring and advising on global initiatives. The Vice President - Counsel will also be expected to have a creative problem-solving approach, the ability to prioritize and balance competing demands, and a strong team player mentality. Applicants must be admitted to and in good standing with the New York bar, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in advising financial institutions on privacy and information security matters. The role requires excellent legal, judgment, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to interpret and contextualize complex legal concepts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in communication, technical drafting, and issue-spotting, and be able to work within tight timeframes on sensitive matters. A background in risk management and the ability to operate with minimal supervision in a professional environment with high expectations are also essential.
