Job Description Job Description Our organization is on the lookout for a Geriatric Psychiatrist to become part of a vibrant team of healthcare professionals, educators, and researchers committed to providing exceptional care in a forward-thinking setting. Our goal is to innovate treatment methods and cultivate the next generation of psychiatrists. The selected candidate will work full-time as an attending physician in our Geriatric Psychiatry Division. Key responsibilities will include delivering psychiatric services to both new and returning patients, along with opportunities to mentor fellows, residents, and medical students. The position also requires participation in case conferences and involvement in administrative and educational gatherings. Additionally, the attending physician will have the chance to partake in research initiatives, such as clinical trials, quality enhancement projects, and the formulation of evidence-based practices and specialized therapies. On-call duties for inpatient care will be part of the faculty call rotation. This position is designed with a focus of 80% on clinical care and 20% allocated to administrative tasks, teaching, or research. The distribution of time may be adjusted based on research or related funding opportunities. Minimum Qualifications Possession of an MD or DO degree Completion of a four-year residency in psychiatry, along with a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry Candidates must either hold or be eligible for a medical license in the State of Georgia Must be board certified or board eligible NOTE: The responsibilities of this position are typically expected to be carried out in person at a designated location.
