Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Join a skilled nursing facility (SNF) team as a physical therapist assistant (PTA) for a 13-week assignment working 8:00 AM 4:30 PM with 35 guaranteed hours per week. Under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, the PTA will provide rehabilitative services designed to improve patient mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional independence. This role focuses on delivering patient-centered care while supporting residents in achieving their highest level of function and quality of life.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans established by the physical therapist, providing therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, balance and strengthening activities, mobility interventions, range of motion exercises, and use of assistive devices. The PTA will monitor and document patient progress, communicate clinical updates to the supervising therapist, assist with discharge planning, educate patients and caregivers, participate in interdisciplinary care conferences, maintain accurate clinical documentation, support fall prevention and mobility programs, ensure compliance with facility and regulatory standards, and promote patient safety, independence, and functional recovery within the skilled nursing environment.
