Staff Accountant

Part of the Nicholas Family of Companies, Big Fish Hospitality Group is the parent company of three restaurants - Big Fish’s Icehouse (located within Nicholas Sportsplex), The Prospect, and Hatty’s Club (located within Rosemont Ice Arena). In addition, the group will be opening another quick service restaurant concept and Hatty’s Club location in late summer. The staff accountant will be responsible for supporting both the accounting manager and the accounting assistant with the day-to-day accounting and reporting activities for the Big Fish Hospitality Group. Primary Responsibilities Perform monthly reconciliations for bank transactions, inventories, sales, and gift cards and other accounts Reconcile and submit monthly sales tax returns Collaborate with the team to complete all financial reporting including monthly financial statements and budget analysis, quarterly reports, annual budgeting, and ad hoc reports as necessary Review monthly inventories and work with the operations teams to ensure accuracy Work with the accounting manager and accounting assistant to set up new hospitality entities Facilitate year-end closing procedures and prepare adjusting journal entries Participate in weekly operational meetings to stay aligned with business objectives Work with the CPA firm, and other external parties as necessary Execute additional duties assigned by the accounting manager to achieve organizational objectives Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or commensurate experience Hospitality experience preferred Software experience with Toast, MarginEdge or other inventory management systems, Quickbooks, and NetSuite (or other ERP system) preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge in Excel Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, problem solving, and time management abilities Working knowledge and flexibility to operate in different industries #J-18808-Ljbffr Big Fish Hospitality Group
