Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience, working night shifts at a hospital with a Level III NICU in Reston, VA.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting featuring 15 LDR rooms, 3 OB triage rooms, 3 ORs, a 4-bay PACU, 4 antepartum rooms, and a Level III NICU
• High-acuity patient population including labor and delivery, C-sections, and patients requiring IV drips such as magnesium
• Procedures performed on the unit include C-sections, epidurals, spinals, cerclage, and external cephalic version
• Circulating in the OR is performed on this unit; scrub role experience is helpful
• EMR system: Meditech with CPN documentation
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Floating required within the women's and children's service line

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
• NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, American Academy of Pediatrics card) required
• AWHONN Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring — Intermediate or Advanced level required (NCCEFM also accepted)
• No certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Professional reference required (quantity varies by state of residence)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital
• OR circulating experience is required; scrub role experience is a plus
• Experience with fast-paced L&D environments is expected given the high-acuity nature of the unit
