As a Machinist, you will be trusted to work on medical devices design engineering (Life Sciences) work includes: applying mechanical and electrical engineering principles to develop medical devices that meet customer technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements. This role is onsite in our Belmont, CA location and a typical day will include: Producing small scale prototype components and developing specialized tools Precision machining (sub 0.010mm tolerance holding) CNC CAM programming (lathe and mill) Maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean and safe working environment What You’ll Bring to Alcon Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs) The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English 2 Years of Relevant Experience Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications Proficiency in Surfcam software, or similar software such as MasterCAM, DelCAM Familiarity with Solidworks CAD and PDM revision control.
